What to Expect at Your First Appointment
CHECK IN / PAPERWORK
Please access your CAAC Patient Portal prior to your first appointment. You will also need to bring a current photo ID and a current insurance card.
We are happy to provide you with this state of the art patient portal where you can fill out the proper forms and review your medical record at your convenience. You should have received an automated email with a link to your portal and instructions on how to login and change your password. Your default username is the email address you provided to our practice.
APPOINTMENT
New Patient appointments generally include a thorough medical history, examination, and testing. The time and cost of this visit will vary based on your symptoms and the testing that your allergist recommends. Generally the evaluation takes between 2-3 hours. Because of this, it is vital to avoid taking antihistamines for 7 days prior to your visit. We will be unable to perform testing if you have taken an antihistamine within 7 days of your appointment.
Based on the evaluation, the doctor will formulate a diagnosis and recommend treatment options. Education regarding your diagnosis and treatment plan is an important part of your initial visit. We will work with you to design a treatment program which results in the most effective therapy for your medical problems. Our goal is to arrive at a treatment plan which allows you to take control of your asthma or allergy issues.
At any time during your visit, please feel free to ask questions if there is something that you do not understand.
PAYMENT
Please note that payment is expected at the time of service. For information about insurance processing and payments, please visit our insurance page.
Appointment Cancellations
Please call the office as soon as possible if you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment. Twenty four hour notice is needed for cancellations. There may be a cancellation fee of $75 for appointments that are missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.
