Why participate in a clinical trial?
There are a number of reasons our patients choose to participate in clinical trials. Often times, they have asthma, COPD, migraines or allergies and they are interested in finding a cure or better treatment of these conditions. Sometimes, they are healthy and want to improve treatment for a certain disease.
By participating in research you will:
- Have access to new and promising medication before it is widely available
- Develop a better understanding of your specific condition
- Receive medical care and medications without cost
- Obtain careful monitoring by our study doctors, nurses and other health professionals
- Collect monetary compensation for your time and travel
What are clinical trials?
Colorado Allergy and Asthma Centers has been participating in clinical research for over 40 years in diseases such as COPD, asthma, headache and food/outdoor allergies.
The trials we have performed include widely used asthma and allergy medication such as Flovent, Advair, Pulmicort, Flonase and Zyrtec. We feel providing opportunities for participation in research broaden and improve the scope of care we provide to our patients. Many of or current trials involve the development of generic alternatives to already available branded (and costly) products. We also participate in studies that provide new treatment options for patients with asthma, COPD and allergies which can result in decreased steroid use.
Dr. David Pearlman, Dr. Leon Greos and Dr. Shaila Gogate serve as principal investigators for clinical research trials conducted at our Denver and Centennial locations. If you would like to participate in a clinical trial at Colorado Allergy & Asthma Centers, you can register here or you can call
