Appointments During COVID-19

By: Kara Crosby, DO

The last few months we have all been focused on the novel coronavirus and reducing its spread by social distancing.  Colorado Allergy and Asthma Centers is proud to have adapted to these changes by adding telehealth visits to assist in these efforts.  While we are still offering telehealth visits, we recognize the importance of in-person appointments in certain circumstances.  In order to appropriately manage some conditions it is important to perform a physical exam and skin testing.

What type of appointment do I need?

Most routine follow ups can be done via a telehealth visit. However, we encourage new patients to come into the office for an appointment.  Other situations for in-person visits are hives, rashes, and new allergy concerns.  Some of our more specialized testing is currently on hold. We are continuing to assess the situation daily and will keep you informed as testing opens up.

If you are 65 and older. We recommend a telehealth visit for your safety.

How will my appointment be different?

To ensure the safety of our patients and employees we have implemented several new policies.  We have asked that all patients wear a mask during their visit. We also ask that patients come alone or with one family member.  We ask that paperwork be completed prior to the visit to minimize time in the waiting room. You will notice seats are spread out in the waiting room to ensure social distancing. Lastly rest assured that we are disinfecting throughout the day and thoroughly cleaning at the end of the day. We are doing everything in our power to keep our wonderful patients safe and healthy. Let us know if you feel it would be more helpful to be seen in person and we will help determine if an in person appointment is necessary.
